Business Training and Workshops
WESST offers a variety of single and multi-session training and workshops that provide a "deep-dive" approach to learning about key business concepts. Our staff of experts develops a majority of the business curriculum we offer and it's tailored to the needs of today's busy entrepreneur. We provide short-cuts and tools that enable entrepreneurs to build their capacity to start and grow a successful business.
Our curriculum covers topic areas that include (but are not limited to):
- Business Planning
- Strategic Planning
- Marketing
- Web Marketing
- Social Media Marketing
- HR Management
- Financial Planning and Analysis
We also partner with other organizations to offer tailored curriculum such as the ETSY Craft Entrepreneurship Program which helps artists and makers learn how to sell online using ETSY as a learning lab.
Financial Literacy Training Through Our Money Learning Lab
The Money Learning Lab brings small business makers, doers and dreamers together to access tools that will help build their business. To create this innovative new program, WESST engaged aspiring and existing small business owners to help us co-design a solution to overcoming financial barriers when starting or growing a business. The Money Learning Lab helps communities of small business owners master their financial systems in a way that complements who they are and what their small business needs are. Training offerings and workshops vary throughout the year. For questions, please contact Adriana Martinez-Guzman at 505.246.6933.
DreamBuilder
DreamBuilder is an intensive online business skills development curriculum that guides women entrepreneurs through interactive exercises and videos, including stories from real-world, successful women entrepreneurs. The program is not only relevant for women who are thinking of starting a small business, but also those who already own small or medium-sized businesses and simply need additional support to increase their success and income.
The DreamBuilder development curriculum is taught taught in a "flipped classroom" model. During the first session, participants will receive their log-in credentials and an overview of the online platform. They will then be able to work at home, at their own pace on the cloud platform. Participants will attend three (3) subsequent in-house sessions at WESST that will allow them to share their learning with other entrepreneurs, ask questions of the WESST trainer around specific topics and review information specific to starting a business in New Mexico. Participants will also have the opportunity to work on the online curriculum using a laptop provided during these sessions. This enables any technical issues to be handled by the WESST trainer.
