WESST Hires New President
WESST is pleased to announce Lindsey Kay as its new President, starting on January 1, 2025.
Lindsey brings over 14 years of demonstrated experience as a leader and entrepreneur. At age 24, she founded Paws and Stripes and served as its Executive Director for fourteen years. She currently serves as the Vice President of Client Services for WESST. Most of her career has been dedicated to not only building a strong organizational team but also developing core programs that provide critical care to those in need. This combination of lived entrepreneurial experience and time working directly with clients at WESST make Lindsey the ideal next President.
Lindsey received her bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, Visual Arts, Psychology and Anthropology from the University of New Mexico and her Master of Social Work, Leadership and Administration from New Mexico Highlands University.
Lindsey shared, “WESST has a longstanding legacy of empowering entrepreneurs in underserved communities and fostering economic growth across New Mexico. I am both humbled and excited to work with this passionate team as we deepen our impact in service to this beautiful and resilient state.”
WESST’s Board Chair, Cheryl Hardt, adds, “We have significant growth plans for WESST in New Mexico. Lindsey’s strong leadership, proven track record of success, and passion for our work make her the ideal choice to lead WESST into the future.”
Agnes Noonan, who is retiring after 33 years as the President of WESST, will work with Lindsey over the next months to ensure a smooth transition. Having accomplished the goals set out together with the board, Agnes leaves the organization on solid footing. She stated that “she is pleased WESST hired someone of Lindsey’s experience and passion for the mission and the people we serve.”
