WESST Opens New Office In Lea County
WESST is happy to announce a new location in Hobbs, NM staffed with a bilingual trainer and consultant.
WESST, New Mexico’s foremost non-profit small business resource, has many locations throughout New Mexico however, the immense need to serve the small business community continues to grow. To ensure the Lea County community has adequate assistance, WESST has added an office in Hobbs, staffed by bilingual consultant/trainer Mara Salcido. Mara comes to WESST with a great deal of experience working with small businesses, successfully developing entrepreneurial start-up programs, and assisting with their marketing efforts. As a Lovington native, Mara understands and knows the communities in southeastern New Mexico. The WESST office in Hobbs is easily accessible and physically located within the Hobbs Hispano Chamber of Commerce located at 113 N Shipp Street.
Mara says, “I’m so excited to expand my reach and assistance to more businesses. WESST will allow me to help our communities in a way I never could before. I love Lea County and I am glad to be of service. WESST’s focus on underserved small business owners will allow me to target and assist our Lea County businesses, especially those that are minority- and women-lead. Southeastern New Mexico is filled with potential and existing resilient businesses, and through WESST, we will be able to facilitate continued real growth.” Mara Salcido has a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of the Southwest and is currently working on her doctorate in Organization and Leadership Development.
WESST Roswell Women’s Business Center Director, Rhonda B Johnson says, “we are excited to have a location in Hobbs. We have so many clients from Lea County and it is great to have someone there in person to work with them who has been a part of the Lea County landscape for years.”
