Helping our clients succeed in business is at the heart of WESST's work. We have assisted a large and diverse roster of clients at every stage of business, from planning to launch to expansion. Our clients have used our services to start and manage businesses of all types: retail, professional services, arts and crafts, restaurants and catering, construction trades, manufacturing, and many others. For many of our clients, WESST's comprehensive services—including business training, financial education, one-on-one consulting and start-up business loans—have been a major factor in their success.
As one of the most successful women's business centers in the United States, WESST is distinguished in New Mexico as the only organization that offers long-term, comprehensive training, technical and loans specifically targeted to low-income women and minorities. Low-income, unemployed, and underemployed women and minorities represent a large share of our client base. Approximately 75 percent of our clients are female, more than 70 percent are classified by federal guidelines as low-income, and over 60 percent are members of an ethnic minority. WESST helps clients throughout New Mexico, from its urban centers to remote rural areas. This section offers profiles of some of our successful clients from across the state.
